The Methodist Church, Long Street, Middleton, celebrated its Centenary during 2001. The church was built
by subscription from members and donations from other Wesleyan chapels and opened with great ceremony at 11 am on the 11th November, 1901.The Long Street Centenary Committee have reproduced a
booklet which commorates the inaugreation of the Building fund in 1890 and lists names of the Wood Street Chapel members who contributed. This may be of interest to geneaologist with an interest in
Middleton as the booklet contains lists of the Chapel members, may of whose names are still popular in the Middleton area. |

Throughout the year 2001, events were organised each month to celebrate our 100th aniversary. The 11th of November
2001, was the 100th Birthday of Long Street, an exhibition was held thoughout the month - when we had quite a large number of interested visitors, past members and friends. We would like to thank all those
who took the trouble to support our efforts and especially old members and friends who travelled long distances to make our Celebrations a success. If you are a
